Here are a few FAQs and pertinent info needed to visit this beautiful island country.

Where in the world?

Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI for short) are a group of over 40 islands and cays located just a short flight away from the US’s East Coast. 

Providenciales (often called Provo for short) is one of the Western Islands and is home to a majority of the tourism as well as the International Airport (PLS). 

Here are a few short FAQs for your reference:

Currency: US Dollar

Language: English

Population: 31,458 residents as of 2012 census. The island also plays temporary home to many tourists from all over the world, including the US, Canada, UK, Brazil, and others!

Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time

Transportation: While there are taxis on island, we highly recommend for our guests to rent a car.

Climate: From June to October the average temperature ranges between 85 to 90 degrees (29 – 32°C) and the water temperature between 82 to 84 degrees (28 – 29°C).

From November to May the average temperature ranges between 80 to 84 degrees (27 – 29°C) and the water temperature between 74 to 78 degrees (23 – 26°C).

A constant trade wind keeps the climate comfortable all year round. The average annual rainfall ranges from 21 inches in the east of the Turks and Caicos Islands to 40 inches in the west. The Turks and Caicos Islands enjoy an average of 350 days of sunshine per year.

Beaches

Grace Bay Beach

The Turtle Cove Neighborhood in Providenciales, TCI is one of the most sought-after destinations in the country. It features an array of desirable perks such as the Caribbean’s Leading Beach Destination -Grace Bay Beach. Stretching for 12 miles, this world-renowned beach is home to Smith’s Reef and Coral Gardens -two protected natural reefs teeming with marine life. Guests can enjoy powder-white sands and incredible snorkeling right outside the villa!

Turtle Cove is also home to 5 of the island’s most popular restaurants, a dive shop, sportfishing charter, tour operators, the undersea explorer, hotels, and more. All within walking distance to your private villa!

Sharkbite Bar & Grill // Great place to come play darts, foosball, slot machines—fun, casual, inexpensive. Serving classic American pub food.

Baci // Here you will find very good Italian food specializing in excellent veal, pasta, and lobster dishes. The thin crust pizzas are superb!

Mango Reef // Specializing in fresh local flavors and seafood with a selection of international favorites.

Simone’s // Locally owned and operated Restaurant serving local cuisine. 

Magnolia // Magnolia offers one of the best views on the island with good food and service. This is a great place to watch a sunset while having a drink at the bar.

Long Bay Beach

Long Bay Beach is the second largest beach on the island. It is a beautiful white sandy beach with some of the most beautiful turquoise waters we’ve ever seen!

Long Bay is almost entirely residential, as such guests can enjoy added privacy -and a beach you might get to call your own! The water here is typically calm, shallow, and absolutely stunning with changing hues of blue throughout the day. Guests can enjoy 3.1 miles of sugar-white sands and waters ideal for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, jet skiing, boating, kiteboarding, and more. 

Long Bay Beach features the best of both worlds: secluded & private while still being conveniently located within a 13 minutes drive to restaurants, shops, Turtle Cove Marina, Blue Haven Marina, tour operators, Grace Bay Beach, and more.

Taylor Bay Beach

Located on Provo’s southwestern shore, Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay are crescent-shaped beaches with typically shallow and beautiful waters. These are great spots for a quiet and relaxed vacation ideal for groups traveling with young children. 

Both locations feature added privacy and seclusion -one of the main reasons why this location is a favorite amongst couples! Guests staying here can enjoy a secluded piece of paradise to call their own. Within close proximity to our villas on this part of the island, you will find Las Brisas Restaurant, Wave Runner Rentals, Omar’s Beach Hut, and more.
